You may or not be aware that if your student is enrolled in a chorus class at Fuller Middle School, they are learning to read music!
Chorus classes are learning to read basic melodies in the hopes that in the future these skills will transfer to reading entire works of music.
Here is an article explaining the importance of Music Literacy. If your student ever questions why they are learning to read music, now you will be able to explain why!
Remember, Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Sing a song with a student, you have simply taught a song to that student. Teach a student to read music, they will always have the skill necessary to learn a song on their own!
