About Mrs. Cranford
Mrs. Regina Cranford is the Chorus and World Drumming teacher at Fuller Middle School. She comes to Framingham with a diverse background in music education. Gina studied Music Education and Choral Conducting at the University of Connecticut, where she studied under Dr. Peter Bagley and Dr. Mary Ellen Junda and received both Bachelors and Masters Degrees. She has taught both high school and middle school choirs on Martha's Vineyard, at Silver Lake Public Schools, Marshfield Public Schools and Algonquin Regional High School in Northboro. In 2001 Gina was chosen to conduct the Jr. SEMSBA Festival Choir. An accomplished accompanist, she has accompanied choirs around the state at the festival and school levels. Gina is a Level One certified Music Together Teacher and has taught countless families and children how to incorporate music making into their everyday lives. Most recently, she brought the Music Together program to a local assisted living center, where families, children and Grandfriends joined together each week to make music together. Gina was the founder/director of Melody Makers Children's Chorus. She enjoys life with her husband Scott, and her sons Joshua and Will, who are both amazing percussionists. She is a dachshund lover and enjoys spending time with her mini doxie Remo (who is named after the drum manufacturer).

Fuller Middle School Vocal and Non-Performance Courses
Fuller Middle School believes that all students benefit from participation in music classes. For students not interested in participating in our instrumental ensembles, we have various chorus and non-performance courses to choose from.

6th Grade Chorus and World Drumming
In 6th grade, students take two trimester courses in music. The first is an introduction to Chorus. For ten weeks, students will learn and acquire the skills to perform successfully in a chorus, while singing songs from around the world. The second course is World Drumming. Students will learn basic Djembe drumming skills and perform patterns originating from West African countries like Guinea and Mali. Students will also sing and dance to songs from these cultures.

7th and 8th Grade Chorus
7th and 8th Grade chorus are full year courses. Throughout the year, students will learn about posture, vowel and breath productions and diction for choral singing. Songs will come from a variety of cultures and students will sing in multiple languages. In addition, students will take basic music skill acquired in grades K-6 and apply them to reading music using Solfege (Do Re Mi etc). There will be a few opportunities throughout the year to perform for audiences, including at least one nighttime performance.

Drumming and Digital
Our newest class, and a Pilot Program for school year 2019-2020! Seventh and Eighth Grade Students will participate in drum circle activities for the first third of class. The rest of class will consist of exploring modern music topics through videos and creating their own digital music on various online platforms.
